When it comes to our exchange program, a couple of things come to mind. First, a customer can save even more money when they trade their bad part for one of our remanufactured or new surplus units. Secondly, as our exchange inventory grows, we can save our customers a lot of downtime by having their part on our shelf, ready to go. By keeping track of the purchasing patterns of our customers, we can anticipate our customers future needs and determine what stock items we replenish and carry on our shelves.
This can be seen in the following scenarios with one of our bigger customers:
Scenario #1: Jim from large Automotive wanted to know if we could repair a Sola power supply faster than he could get one new from another vendor. We looked and found we had a new unit in our inventory. Jim immediately got a PO issued and we did an exchange and shipped it over that afternoon! Not only did we get it to him faster, it was new, it was also less expensive with the core exchange credit, and we repaired the exchange and have it sitting in our inventory if he needs the part in the future. Jim followed up with this remark,
“up and running! Part works great, everything went smooth. Thank-you!” Scenario #2: Carol from large Automotive needed a Fanuc amplifier in a Hot Hot rush. They had a machine down and needed to finish an order to get shipped that night. Our CSR Jessica saw that we had one listed on
RepairZone and it had been remanufactured and ready to go. Carol quickly cut a PO and we exchanged it for their failed part. We delivered it and had it in their machine in an hour! The exchange program works great for both party’s involved. They got their part lightning fast and we re-upped our inventory with their failed part.
